Taylor Swift Makes Major Decision About Relationship Status with Travis Kelce
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift seemingly can’t do anything these days without it making front-page headlines.
Kelce is preparing to play the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday as Swift finishes off the last of three shows in New Orleans as part of her “Eras Tour,” but the couple have also made some serious strides in their relationship as well.
Several reports over the last week have indicated the couple plans to open a liquor store together, buy land together in both Hawaii and Italy, they want to adopt a cat together, and they’ll likely be named the godparents of Brittany and Patrick Mahomes’ third child.
But according to Sarah Nathan of Page Six, they also plan to do something that requires much more of a commitment. In fact, it’s really the ultimate commitment.
“The next few months are set to be life-changing for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce,” Nathan wrote. “…There is now a countdown to an engagement for the starry pair, sources say, as friends reveal how weathering the past year together with 35-year-old Kelce the singer’s ‘protector’ behind the scenes, has made them stronger than ever.”
Kelce and Swift have been rumored to be getting engaged for months despite since debunked rumors they had a breakup contract in place.
Per Nathan, what really convinced Swift that Kelce was the one was his willingness to go above and beyond for her safety, when she was forced to cancel a handful of shows in Austria due to a terrorist plot that was uncovered with Swift allegedly the target.
Kelce spent hours on the phone with Swift after the incident and even offered to fly overseas to be with her and give her peace of mind, but she argued he should stay stateside to focus on football.
“Just his physical presence — she feels safer with him than anyone she’s ever known; she knows he would do anything for her and physically she feels protected by him, and she loves that feeling,” a source told Nathan. “It’s a relatively new one for her, relationship-wise.
“Travis is her protector in every sense of the word. He is going to make sure she is physically safe, and emotionally safe — he is not going to do anything careless or reckless with her.”
No details about when an engagement could happen, but several reports have indicated it’s likely to happen after the NFL season ends.
