Tadej Pogačar has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a concussion in a recent race. The Slovenian rider, known for his dominance in Grand Tours, sustained the injury during a high-speed crash that left fans and teammates concerned about his condition.
Pogačar, who rides for UAE Team Emirates, was immediately taken to a medical facility, where doctors confirmed he had suffered a concussion. While his injuries are not life-threatening, team officials announced that he would not be returning to competition this season to ensure a full recovery.
“This is a tough moment for Tadej and the team,” said UAE Team Emirates’ medical director. “Concussions require proper healing time, and our priority is his health. We won’t take any risks by rushing his return.”
The injury is a significant blow to Pogačar, who had been enjoying another strong season. His absence will also impact major races, as he was expected to compete for top honors in several key events.
Despite the setback, Pogačar remains optimistic about his recovery. “I’m disappointed to end my season like this, but health comes first,” he said in a statement. “I’ll focus on my recovery and come back stronger next year.”
Fans and fellow riders have expressed their support for Pogačar, recognizing his resilience and determination. While his season may be over, the cycling world eagerly awaits his return in 2026, hoping to see him back at his best.
