So emotional: Lance Armstrong Retirement Speech…..Read More

Today, as I stand before you, it’s hard to find the words to express the depth of my gratitude, my pride, and, yes, my emotions. Cycling has been my life for decades. It’s where I found not just my purpose but also my greatest challenges, my hardest lessons, and my deepest joys.

From the highs of crossing finish lines to the unimaginable lows of battling cancer, this journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. I owe everything to this sport and the people who believed in me, even when I doubted myself. To my teammates, my coaches, my fans, and most of all, my family — you have been my strength and my anchor. You’ve cheered for me in the brightest moments and stood by me when the path turned dark.

But today, it’s time for a new chapter. Retirement isn’t an end; it’s a transformation. My legacy isn’t just about victories or titles — it’s about resilience. It’s about showing that no matter how steep the climb, how fierce the headwind, we can persevere.

Cycling taught me that pain is temporary, but quitting lasts forever. And while I’m stepping away from the bike, I’m not quitting on life. I’ll continue to advocate for cancer research, to mentor young athletes, and to give back to the sport that gave me so much.

Thank you for letting me live my dream. Thank you for letting me fight. And thank you for reminding me that, together, we are stronger than any challenge we face.

This isn’t goodbye. It’s simply the beginning of something new.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Let me know if you’d

like any adjustments!
