Missing kayaker’s body recovered from Kootenai River in Lincoln County

The body of the missing kayaker Jessica Prado has been found in the Kootenai River in Lincoln County Sunday at approximately 8:45 a.m.
A release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said personnel recovered the body who was positively identified as Prado.
The Lincoln County coroner and sheriff’s office made notifications to family.
“I would like to thank David Thompson Search and Rescue and Two Bear Air Rescue for all of their efforts in the search and recovery,” Lincoln County Sheriff Darren Short said in the release.
LIBBY, Mont. – A woman went missing due to a kayaking incident in the Kootenai River on Wednesday.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Dispatch received the call at around 7:58 PM on June 26, 2024. They learned hat Jared Satterlund and Jessica Prado had been kayaking in the Kootenai River above Kootenai Falls when they began having problems in the river and eventually were separated.
Satterlund was reportedly tried to help Prado, who was in the water. Sutterlund said that he lost sight of Prado after seeing her struggling in an eddy.
According to the press release from Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office sent on June 27, both Lincoln County Sheriff Deputies and David Thompson Search and rescue crews responded to the scene and searched for Prado.
