Emma Raducanu caused a stir at Wimbledon when she withdrew from playing mixed doubles with Andy Murray at the last minute, in what would have been the Scot’s final match in his favorite tournament. Judy Murray made a comment that could be interpreted as critical, and the British press went after the young player. “It’s very easy for the whole country and the press to be tough on me, but I can also be tough due to my perfectionist nature,” she said in a recent post on ELLE.
What no one expected was that during the press conference before the 2024 US Open, she was asked about the player from Dunblane, and her response was so cold. “It doesn’t feel any different at all. Tennis is ruthless in that sense, no matter who you are, it just moves forward. We have a fast pace, just like in life. Of course, Andy did fantastic things here, but that’s old news,” she declared.
