Roger Federer already has cause for celebration this holiday season. Federer’s wife, Mirka, is pregnant and expecting to give birth in 2014.

The 17-time Grand Slam champion announced the news in a tweet today:

Could it be another set of twins for the Federer family?

The 2022 Wimbledon champion has spent more than three quarters of that time in the Top 5, too.

As if there isn’t already enough to celebrate this week, one of the top women’s players in the world hits a big career milestone.

It’s Elena Rybakina’s 100th career week in the Top 10.

And it’s all consecutive, as well—since first breaking into the elite on January 30th, 2023 after reaching the Australian Open final, she hasn’t dropped out, not even for one week.

It’s the fifth-longest active Top 10 streak on the women’s tour.

LONGEST ACTIVE STREAKS IN CURRENT WTA TOP 10:

215 weeks: Aryna Sabalenka [since November 16th, 2020]

165 weeks: Iga Swiatek [since November 1st, 2021]

134 weeks: Jessica Pegula [since June 6th, 2022]

120 weeks: Coco Gauff [since September 12th, 2022]

100 weeks: Elena Rybakina [since January 30th, 2023]

48 weeks: Zheng Qinwen [since January 29th, 2024]

29 weeks: Jasmine Paolini [since June 10th, 2024]

16 weeks: Emma Navarro [since September 9th, 2024]

10 weeks: Daria Kasatkina [since October 21st, 2024]

7 weeks: Barbora Krejcikova [since November 11th, 2024]

It’s worth noting that had there been ranking points at Wimbledon in 2022, where Rybakina won her first Grand Slam title, she would have made her Top 10 debut then—in July of 2022—as opposed to in January of 2023, after reaching her second Grand Slam final at the Australian Open.

Rybakina has spent more than three quarters of these 100 weeks in the Top 10—77 of them, to be exact—in the Top 5. That includes 11 career weeks at a career-high of No. 3, which she first reached on June 12th, 2023, after the conclusion of Roland Garros.

RYBAKINA’S CAREER TOP 10 WEEKS BY RANKING:

No. 1: 0 weeks

No. 2: 0 weeks

No. 3: 11 weeks

No. 4: 54 weeks

No. 5: 12 weeks

No. 6: 9 weeks

No. 7: 7 weeks

No. 8: 0 weeks

No. 9: 0 weeks

No. 10: 7 weeks

With new coach and fellow Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic in her corner, Rybakina will kick off her 2025 season at United Cup, which actually begins later this week.

Carlos Alcaraz was game when we asked him about holiday gift ideas for some of his fellow tour-mates earlier this month.

He was also a good sport when we gave him some boxes, tape and wrapping paper for our special Gift Wrapping Challenge.

But was he actually good at it?

I wouldn’t give this sh-t to anyone.

Carlos Alcaraz

The uber-talented Spaniard may not have the gift of wrapping in his arsenal, but he gave us plenty of fun answers during the simultaneous questionaire.

What is the best gift you’ve ever received? Who on tour made the nice list this year? Stockings or presents?

Watch the YouTube clip above for Carlitos as you’ve never seen him before—struggling mightily.

Jessie Pegula, gift-wrapping GOAT?

Jessie Pegula, gift-wrapping GOAT?

On the other side of the coin is Jessica Pegula. If the American’s tennis career doesn’t pan out, she could do worse than interning at Santa’s workshop.

“This one isn’t showing my true colors, I’d have to repair,” she said after the second package she wrapped wasn’t up to her standard.

When asked which player of the four participants would be the best gift-wrapper, Emma Navarro, Ben Shelton and Carlos Alcaraz all selected Peg

ula.

“I mean, to be honest, I probably would have picked myself…” Pegula said with a laugh.
