Jason Statham Teams Up With Oscar Winner for Free to Stream Action Thriller

Action movie icon Jason Statham once joined forces with an Oscar winner and Hollywood icon for more action-packed thrills – and the movie is now free to stream. Titled Killer Elite, the action outing is currently available to watch via the likes of Tubi and Pluto TV, and finds The Stath teaming up with none other than Robert De Niro, with the pair facing off with Sin City and Children of Men star Clive Owen and his team of assassins.

Based on the 1991 novel “The Feather Men” by British explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and directed by Gary McKendry, Killer Elite finds Statham leading a somewhat more grounded action flick (when compared to the likes of The Mechanic and The Beekeeper, that is), and stars Clive Owen, Yvonne Strahovski, Robert De Niro, Lachy Hulme, Dominic Purcell, Aden Young, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. You can check out the official synopsis for the movie below.

“Danny Bryce (Jason Statham), one of the world’s deadliest special-ops agents, returns from self-imposed exile after his mentor, Hunter (Robert De Niro) is captured. Danny reassembles his former team of skilled commandos to launch a rescue mission, and also to infiltrate the highly feared military unit, the British Special Air Service. The mission will not be easy, for Danny and his team must cut their way through Spike (Clive Owen) and a team of assassins known as the Feather Men.”

While Killer Elite was not well received at the time (it has just 27% on Rotten Tomatoes), the action thriller boasts solid performances from its stellar cast and is brimming with exciting and intense action sequences, including a brutal battle between Statham and Owen that ends with the former flipping onto his opponent while tied to a chair.

Jason Statham is now renowned for flying the flag for wonderfully no-nonsense action movies, and to the delight of fans, he has plenty more in the pipeline. The Stath will reunite with director David Ayer and writer Sylvester Stallone for next year’s Levon’s Trade, which is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Chuck Dixon. The action outing follows The Stath as Levon Cade, a former counter-terrorism expert who leaves his violent career behind to work in construction and be a good father. But, when a local girl goes missing, Levon is asked to return to his skills and hunt for her.
