After taking back the lead of the MotoGP World Championship Jorge Martin insists that at this point of the season, it is not important.
Jorge Martin is on a run of second-place finishes across the last three rounds. At Silverstone, the Red Bull Ring and MotorLand Aragon Martin finished second in the Sprint and Grand Prix.
He may not have been winning recent races but his consistency has put him into the lead of the Championship.

At one of his home races in Aragon Martin believes he did the best he could as he felt Marquez was unbeatable.
“I did my maximum, he (Marc Marquez) was on 100% so it was really difficult to beat him,” Martin stated. “I did the most I could, but I did not feel really good throughout the weekend. Throughout the weekend I was doing a lot of changes on the bike, I think I achieved the best possible result. It was really difficult to ride out there in the dirty conditions. So, yeah I am happy that I kept my concentration until the end.”

Martin went on to explain his Aragon Grand Prix performance. The Spaniard started his Grand Prix with fears that he had a faulty rear tyre and ended his race in cruise control.
“Today in the start I spun quite a lot, like Pecco yesterday,” Martin said. “Then I was scared because I remembered Qatar last season because maybe my rear tyre was not working. I tried to recover positions, but when I went into second with Pedro (Acosta) we went wide. It was complicated, I saw Marquez already had two seconds. I tried to be fast, I tried to keep that distance to try and have a chance at the end, but I saw that there was no way.
“When Pecco crashed I looked over to my pit board and there were still six or seven laps to go. I was just cruising trying to make it until the end with no risk, this was the most difficult part of the race.”
The next two rounds of the season will take place in Misano. This is a circuit that Martin was dominant around in 2023. However, the Championship leader insists that his past performances mean nothing in 2024.
