WNBA Facing Backlash Over Decision on Fever-Lynx Game

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will face off against the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday night in what will be a very memorable event.

WNBA legend Maya Moore is set to have her No. 23 jersey retired by the Lynx. They picked a great game to do this with all the fans Clark will bring in. The former Iowa Hawkeyes star has also made it well known that she grew up a big fan of Moore, so it will be a special night for her, too.

But the WNBA made a disappointing choice when it came to the game and the ceremony. They opted not to televise the game nationally, which means that many fans will unfortunately miss out on the special occasion.

Instead, the WNBA chose to have the game broadcast on NBA TV and the WNBA League Pass, both of which cost extra for the average consumer.

Many fans are not happy with the WNBA’s decision and took to social media to leave their concerns.

“No national TV game for Maya Moore’s jersey retirement tonight is crazy. One of the greatest athletes to ever do it. Smh.”

“given that approx 84 fever games have been on national tv this season the fact that … caitlin’s idol maya moore’s jersey retirement is not one of them is interesting lmfao”

“We gotta watch Maya Moore’s jersey retirement on League Pass and not on national television”

“Wish this Fever-Lynx game tonight with Maya Moore jersey retirement ceremony was on one of ESPN’s channels tonight.”

“The

WNBA is embarrassing”
