Carlos Alcaraz recently registered his 200th ATP Tour win at the China Open and Boris Becker reacted to the same. The Spaniard achieved this landmark at the age of just 21.
Alcaraz is the third seed at the China Open and booked his place in the quarterfinals with a comprehensive 6-1, 6-2 win over Tallon Griekspoor. This marked the 200th win of his young career out of just 252 matches so far. The Spaniard also became the second-fastest to get to 200 ATP Tour wins among World No. 1s, with John McEnroe being the quickest at 245 matches.
Rafael Nadal is third on the list at 255 matches while Mats Wilander is fourth, having notched his 200th tour-level win in his 256th match. They are followed by Jimmy Connors at fifth (258) and Boris Becker at sixth (260).
Becker reacted to Alcaraz’s achievement by stating that he was in good company with the other players who were on the list of the fastest World No. 1s to attain 200 tour-level victories.
“Amongst a nice group of players,” the German wrote.

After beating Tallon Griekspoor, Carlos Alcaraz will next take on seventh seed Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals of the China Open. The two will lock horns for the fourth time, with the Spaniard winning each of their three prior encounters. Whoever comes out on top, will face either third seed Daniil Medvedev or Flavio Cobolli in the semifinals of the AT
P 500 event.
