“Two years ago he crashed at Liège and that cost him the Tour de France” – Italian ex-pro sends warning to Paris-Roubaix bound Tadej Pogacar…

Former Italian professional cyclist Andrea Tafi has issued a cautionary note to Tadej Pogačar ahead of his Paris-Roubaix debut, reminding him of the risks that come with tackling the race’s treacherous cobbled sectors. Tafi referenced Pogačar’s crash at Liège-Bastogne-Liège in 2022, which derailed his Tour de France ambitions that year, as a warning of how unpredictable and unforgiving one-day classics can be.

Paris-Roubaix, known as “The Hell of the North,” is notorious for its brutal pavé sections, where even the strongest riders can fall victim to crashes or mechanical issues. While Pogačar’s exceptional bike handling skills have earned him victories in classics like the Tour of Flanders, Tafi emphasized that Roubaix is a different challenge entirely.

Despite being one of the most versatile riders in the peloton, Pogačar must approach the race with caution to avoid another costly setback ahead of his primary goal: winning the Tour de France.
