Information is already being shared on another possible hurricane in the Gulf but there’s nothing to worry about right now
There are already images being widely shared of another hurricane forecast to hit Florida in the next two weeks, but I’m here to tell you that no one knows what will happen by then.
Here’s why.
You may have seen images similar to this that show another hurricane hitting Florida about two weeks from now.
This is just one forecast, and notice it’s over 15 days away. Here’s why we shouldn’t be worrying right now.
The same forecast takes the system and organizes it into a possible storm just off the coasts of Honduras and Belize by Saturday of next week.
After that, it winds down to nearly nothing by day Friday, 15 days from now
Although, it does bring the diffuse cluster of storm activity into the Gulf of Mexico by next Sunday, 10 days from now.
This is the ECMWF forecast but uses new artificial intelligence capabilities, and this data doesn’t develop a system either. It also brings storm energy through Central America and into the Pacific.
This is the forecast from Canada. It also fails to produce any significant system. It also brings the diffuse storm energy into the Pacific, just like the ECMWF – AIFS data.
These are the main forecasts that can even forecast this far out, on the order of two weeks. What we know right now? It’s likely that we’re not going to have another hurricane that will hit Florida in two weeks.
However, is that chance 0%? No, but it’s on the order of less than 1% right now.
I want everyone to stay up with this forecast blog, as I will continue to update it with the latest medium range forecast information as it is issued.
Stay calm, and send your best to those who have been affected by Helene, Milton, and other recent storms.
As Hurricane Milton adds to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, many people feel compelled to donate to relief efforts.
