- Breaking: Day before the draft, the Detroit Lions and their star player agree to a $120 million extension; go against the 49ers

Prior to the 2024 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions took care of one of their most valuable playmakers. The front staff is making sure the Lions retain and recruit players who can help them get to the game in February of next year because they were only a few plays away from making the Super Bowl the previous season.
Quarterback Jared Goff is the largest contract the Lions have to deal with this offseason. This next season, Goff is expected to play in the last year of his contract. Although nothing has emerged from the smoke as of yet in the offseason, both parties are interested in an extension.
For the upcoming several seasons, the Lions made sure to keep Goff’s top target on the field. The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Amon-Ra St. Brown has agreed to a $120 million, four-year contract extension with the Lions. He is assured to receive $77 million of that.
