He may be face of evil to most football fans after sinking his teeth into Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini during Tuesday’s World Cup clash between Uruguay and the Azzurri – but off the pitch striker Luis Suarez’ love life is a far more sweet tale.
Married to teenage sweetheart Sofia Balbi, the 27-year-old Liverpool player moved across the globe to be with his then-girlfriend – and some claim she is the only person who can calm his rage off the pitch.
But just how much do we know about the blonde WAG behind the biter? Here’s five things you need to know about the mother-of-two – which may make you like Suarez just a little bit more.

1. She fell in love with Suarez when he was a street sweeper

The pair met when they were just teenagers. Back in 2001 Suarez was a street sweeper in Uruguay.
He has spoken about how he saved up the coins he was paid, and small change he found in the street to take her out on their first date.
2. She inspired him to become a footballer – by moving halfway across the globe

Just two years after they met blonde Sofia, who went on to have two children with the footballer, moved to Barcelona with her family.
It is thought the move inspired Suarez to become a professional footballer so he could get a European team to pay for him to fly over to see Sofia.
He waited three years. Dutch team FC Groningen eventually signed the young player. Suarez later said: “At 15, I found a girlfriend that sorted my head out. It helped me realize how soccer was for me.”
3. She has two children

Sofia gave birth to the couple’s first daughter, Delfina, on August 5 2010.
Three years later they had a son, Benjamin, football fans must remember how the player revealed his birth – by revealing a T-shirt during a typical goal celebration welcoming his son into the world.
4. She is his pillar

Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers described: “She’s a great woman and offers him great stability in his life. She tells him straight and direct. She loves Liverpool, she loves the city, she loves the camaraderie with the other players’ wives.
“So she’s a real pillar in his life. They’ve been together for a long time. Luis travelled across the world to find her again. It’s an incredible story.”
