Richard Ofori | Orlando Pirates Football Club
Born in Accra, Ghana, the vibrant Richard Ofori started his football career with a local team called Westland FC. The towering goalkeeper then moved on to join Wa All Stars in the upper west region of Ghana where he had his first professional start. After being called up to join the national team, Ofori transferred to Maritzburg United before signing with the Buccaneers in 2020.
The Ghanaian has great hopes and dreams of carrying the African flag to a big world stage, whether it is representing his club, country or continent. He has made it clear that his first goal is to dominate the African continent and win silverware with the Sea Robbers to be an inspiration to young aspiring African goalkeepers.
Richard classifies himself as a positive player who is determined to motivate his teammates through leadership and support. He believes that momentum and spirit on the pitch starts with the mood in the dressing room so he commits to bringing his best energy to the team.
Outside of football, Ofori admits to being a fan of the simple life. He enjoys spending time and sharing life with his friends and family, whether it be going to church with them, playing tennis or having cookouts on his days off. If given the choice, the Richard Kingstone fan would choose to call home over going out to a social
event.
