Both of Manchester United’s injuries are severe enough to keep them out for a month.
Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez, two central defenders for Manchester United, will be sidelined “for at least a month,” the team announced.
With a hamstring injury, Lindelof was substituted in the second half of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford. The Sweden international won’t be able to play again until May.
Martinez has also caused more bad news for Man United; during a training session, the Argentina international strained his calf.
According to a statement on the team’s official website, “Manchester United center-backs Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez will be out of action for at least a month due to muscle injuries.”
Due to a hamstring issue, Sweden captain Lindelof was taken off the field during the second half of last Saturday’s Premier League match over Brentford.
Martinez, an Argentina international making his first appearance since early February, took Victor’s place after 69 minutes. Unfortunately, Licha will be out of action for the next several games due to a calf strain that she suffered during training.”
Martinez, who suffered a knee injury against West Ham United at the beginning of February, made his 11th appearance of the season against Brentford.
Nevertheless, the 26-year-old will now have to spend more time on the sidelines because of his terrible 12-month fitness woes.
Martinez was there for the start of preseason training despite having surgery in April of last year to repair the fractured metatarsal he sustained against Sevilla in the Europa League.
