Lamine Yamal will play in a Barcelonashirt until 2026, the Catalan club announced on Monday. The 16-year-old has reached an agreement with his agent and is likely to extend his contract until 2030 when he comes of age.
Lamin Yamal’s renewal with Barcelona is official. After securing Alejandro Balde’s new deal, the board have taken care of tying down their young star. The negotiations have been positive for both parties and the striker will play for Barcelona until 2026.
Yamal’s agent Jorge Mendes has reached an agreement with the Catalan club to extend his contract until 2030 when the 16-year-old comes of age. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, his buyout clause will be 1 billion euros.
No official act took place to announce his renewal as Yamal is one of the youngest debutants of 2023 and the club had to follow the protocol for the protection of minors.
The right winger has become a key player for manager Xavi Hernandez as he has played 9 competitive matches with the first team in the 2023/24 season, providing one assist and receiving one yellow card.
