On September 6, the Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles will square off in the NFL’s first regular-season match to be held in Brazil.
This Friday night game on the first weekend of the NFL season will take place in Sao Paulo for the first time since 1970.
The NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, had previously declared in February that the Eagles would play the game at home. The opponent of the Eagles was revealed by the NFL on Wednesday.
Corinthians Arena, the home of the Brazilian soccer team Corinthians, will host the match. The Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016 and the 2014 World Cup were held at this location.
In the previous three years, this will be the Packers’ second international match. In 2022, they traveled to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London to play their first regular-season game outside of the United States. They were defeated 27–22 by the New York Giants.
In addition to being accessible for free on broadcast television in the Eagles and Packers’ respective local markets, the game will only be streamed on Peacock.
