Ronnie O’Sullivan hailed Mark Williams as one of the finest snooker players on the planet

Williams, 49, overcame O’Sullivan in the Snooker Tour Championship Final, overturning a 5-3 deficit to win 10-5 in Manchester. O’Sullivan was completely helpless to stop the Welshman’s unstoppable burst of seven continuous frames from consigning him to his first defeat in a final since losing to Fan Zhengyi in the 2022 European Masters.

In his post-match interview, O’Sullivan took his hat off to Williams, admitting there was little he could do to stop the rampant Welshman. With the World Championship on the horizon, O’Sullivan serenaded the World No.8.
