After eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans, former Alabama great running back Derrick Henry begins a new chapter in his life.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Alabama running back Derrick Henry has signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

“Free-agent Derrick Henry is signing a two-year, $16 million deal worth up to $20 million, including $9 million fully guaranteed in the first year with the Baltimore Ravens, sources tell ESPN,” writes Schefter. “The King now will play in the Queen City.”

While scores of undrafted free agents secured new residences on Monday, Henry’s name was persistently linked to Baltimore. That “there’s interest on both sides” was confirmed on Monday night by Josina Anderson, an NFL insider for CBS Sports.

Henry joins the Ravens, who concluded the previous regular season with the best record (13-4) in both the AFC and the NFL. After guiding the Baltimore Ravens to the AFC Championship and then losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, quarterback Lamar Jackson was named the second NFL MVP.

The Tennessee Titans’ announcement on February 26 that they would not be franchise-tagging Henry led to the deal. The Titans also signed Tony Pollard, a former starter running back for the Dallas Cowboys.
