Oliver Glasner laments the Crystal Palace team’s loss to Manchester City.
Oliver Glasner expressed regret for his Crystal Palace team’s loss despite their “positive” effort against Manchester City.
After leading title-chasing City 3-0 after just four minutes, Palace lost 4-2 at Selhurst Park, their first defeat under Glasner since a 3-0 victory over Burnley on February 24.
Despite Palace’s second loss in four days, Glasner was pleased by his team’s effort against the Treble champions from the previous season. Palace is currently ranked 14th in the table.
The Austrian stated: “We lost 4-2 today, and while I’m never happy with the outcome, there were a lot of good aspects about our game today.
“We had a great first goal, but the equalizer came in too quickly.” Although we could observe the City’s domination in possession, we always appeared to be a threat.
“Given how much the players invested today, I feel a little sorry for them. Our goal is to maintain this optimal state of mind and body for ninety-five minutes. Although outcomes are crucial and this one is disappointing once more, I’m glad to see the guys making improvement.
“We are competitive against any team if we perform our job at a high level,” Glasner continued.
