4-Star OL Mason Short, a former commit to Alabama, has committed to Georgia bulldogs

Mason Short, a four-star offensive lineman, declared his intention to attend Georgia. The 300-pound offensive tackle, who stands 6-foot-5.5, hails from Evans, Georgia.

He chose the Bulldogs over Ohio State, Clemson, and Kentucky for his college career. On January 16, with the retirement of Nick Saban, he resigned from Alabama.

In the class of 2025, Short is ranked as the 13th interior offensive lineman and 224th overall talent. According to the On3 industry rankings, he is ranked as Georgia’s No. 30 player and as the No. 5 interior offensive lineman.He earned second-team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American honors and was named the Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2022. Short also earned Preseason MaxPreps Junior All-American honors this season.

Following Short’s commitment, Georgia’s 2025 recruiting class ranks No. 8 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC

He was selected as the 2022 Offensive Lineman of the Year and was recognized as a second-team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American. This season, Short was named a Preseason MaxPreps Junior All-American as well.

Georgia’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked No. 3 in the SEC and No. 8 nationally after Short’s commitment.
