ALLEN PARK — T.J. Hockenson has been added to the Detroit Lions’ injury report because of hip pain. He was listed as a limited participant in practice.

Hockenson played 54 offensive snaps in the win against Washington, tops among anyone who wasn’t an offensive lineman or quarterback, although caught just three of the seven passes thrown his way for 26 yards. He’s caught seven of his 14 targets for 64 yards this season, and ranks 32nd at the position according to ProFootballFocus. That’s solid, although his coordinator said he’s been better than the line indicates.

“Thought Hock really showed up (in the opener), maybe not on the stat line, but he had a good presence out on the field from the tight end room,” Ben Johnson said.

Maybe, although Hockenson will surely be looking for better results heading into Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. He’s playing out the final year of the rookie contract he signed in 2019. The club has already picked up his fifth-year option for 2023, although Hockenson would prefer a long-term deal.

“My worry is to play ball, so I think that’s kind of where it’s at,” Hockenson said. “Whether it comes halfway through or whether it comes in two years, it is what it is.”

Center Frank Ragnow (foot), cornerback Amani Oruwariye (back) and safety JuJu Hughes (shoulder) were also listed as limited, while defensive lineman John Cominsky (wrist), edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson (thigh), guard Jonah Jackson (finger) and running back D’Andre Swift (ankle) did not participate at all.
