Albion extended their unbeaten start to the Championship season with a 2-1 win over the Potters at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday (24 August) thanks to first-half goals from Grant and Josh Maja.
Grant’s headed goal was his first in Baggies colours since before his loan spell with Cardiff City last season and while he couldn’t miss from close range, he has earned plaudits from pundits and former teammates, including Yokuslu.
Responding to the striker’s Instagram post on Sunday (25 August) the Turkish midfielder posted two fire emojis to show his support for the 26-year-old.
Are West Brom close to any new signings ahead of the transfer deadline at The Hawthorns?
Few supporters would have expected Grant to be playing a starring role for Carlos Corberan’s Baggies this season when he was seemingly out of the picture completely while out on loan in South Wales last term.
But the 26-year-old has impressed since returning to The Hawthorns and while some supporters might not have taken to the versatile attacker, he is doing everything he can to try and get them back onside both off and on the pitch.
Grant is clearly a popular figure in the West Brom changing room as demonstrated by the string of messages on his Instagram post from current teammates such as Darnell Furlong and Daryl Dike as well as the likes of Yokuslu.

With Grady Diangana sidelined through injury, keeping the 26-year-old fit and firing in his absence could well be crucial to any playoff push that Albion mount between now and the
end of the season.
